When booking private consultations a referral from a General Practioner (with a letter) is always preferred, but is not essential. You can book a private consultation by phoning direct for an appointment to Spire Hospital. You do not need private health insurance to book a consultation. The patient, whether insured or not is initially responsible for the cost. Some insurance companies will however settle bills directly with my team. Some private health insurers may require an initial referral from your GP as part of their terms and conditions.
I am recognised by all the Major Insurance Companies including Alliance Surgical. I no longer see NHS referrals in my private clinics.
You can contact my private secretary or ring the appointments desk of Spire hospital to arrange a consultation.
If not insured and requiring surgery or extensive tests, Spire Hospital will quote all inclusive fixed price care packages. The Spire marketing department will be happy to help (0113 2693939).
Tuesday afternoons and early evening.
Wednesday afternoon.
A new patient consultation £250-275
A followup consultation £150
There may also be added clinic costs for treatments and investigations, as a guide to potential costs:
Fibre optic camera examinations £150
Hearing Tests and Tympanaometry £50-95
Microscopic Ear Cleaning , Cautery to nose etc. £90-175
Clinic procedures (as above) are usually covered from the outpatient treatment coverage of medical insurance without prior approval.
VAT is not charged.
Spire Hospital may also charge an additional equipment usage charge for some procedures. Spire Hospital often wishes to take your credit card details at booking in for this purpose. This is not for settling my invoices.
Operation costs are based upon the BUPA schedule. Iam 'fee assured' for BUPA insurance and most major insurance companies will settle my bills directly and in full. If not there may be an excess due direct from the patient, quotes for surgical fees can always be advised. My anaesthetic colleagues' fees are usually covered in full by insurers.
For non insured patients Spire hospital will quote a 'fixed price all inclusive package' that includes all costs of surgery including hospital, anaesthetic and surgical fees.
Mr Knight trades as Knight and Knight partnership.
Payment of invoices is best settled by card payment over the phone with my secretary, by cheque or by BACS transfer. Cash can be accepted at the time of consultation only.
