Although COVID-19 has caused a significant problem to health care delivery both in the private sector and in the NHS, things are now improving. I can now offer regular twice weekly Face to Face clinics for private consultations at Spire Hospital Leeds (Roundhay) in addition to continuing Zoom Virtual consultations if required.
Private surgery undertaken at Spire for adults and children continues at full intensity weekly.
Patients can book a private appointment (Face to Face or Virtual) whether they are insured or not. To dicsuss ENT conditions or treatment, for both adult and children. Please contact Spire hospital or my secretary. Prior GP referral although very welcome is not always required.

Mr Lindsey Knight has been an NHS Teaching Hospital Consultant ENT Surgeon and Private ENT Surgeon since 1995. I am on the Specialist Register as a Specialist ENT Surgeon. I am fully registered with the GMC and fully licensed and revalidated to practice. I am available for Private Consultations and Treatments at Spire Leeds Hospital.
I have a reputation for experience and accurate diagnosis combined with simple and straight forward honest explanations of symptoms and problems. Importantly I will always discuss the various treatment options available to patients. Many ENT conditions can be helped with good advice and medicines. Not everything will require surgery. However if surgery is required a quick, skilled and experienced surgeon is a great asset.
My ENT training commenced in Cardiff with the ENT surgical rotation. I spent a research year at the well known Cardiff University Common Cold and Nasal Research Centre. Here I undertook scientific research into nasal and ear disease and wrote my Thesis on the 'Control of Middle ear Pressure'.
Further training continued in the USA as a prestigious TWJ research fellow at the University of California San Francisco.
I was then appointed as a Consultant ENT surgeon to the Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust in 1995, working at Leeds General Infirmary and Wharfedale Hospital until 2022. I was also an Honorary Senior Lecturer of the University of Leeds.
My private consultations and surgery are undertaken at Spire Hospital Leeds.
Fifty percent of my NHS job was as a Specialist Adult ENT surgeon undertaking ear and nasal and sinus surgery, in addition to benign throat and neck surgery.
The other half of my job was as a Specialist Paediatric ENT Surgeon providing a Specialist Tertiary Service as a Paediatric ENT Surgeon to the whole of West Yorkshire and far beyond. I headed up the regional paediatric airway service (for children with upper airways breathing problems) and supported the paediatric regional intensive and neonatal intensive care units. I received many referrals from other consultants, from many specialities, including many other ENT surgeons. I still deal with many more Paediatric ENT problems both common and specialist than any of my regional colleagues.
Having worked at, and previously having been both the Lead Clinician and Clinical Director of the ENT department, at the major regional teaching hospital, I have trained or appointed nearly all of my colleagues and many of the ENT surgeons in the surrounding hospitals.
I am a very practical man. I like practical things and am very dexterous, thats why I like surgery. My hobbies, when work and family time allows, include woodwork, woodturning, furniture making, all manner of DIY and painting. I have given up golf several times! I enjoy cars and mechanics, but get most satisfaction (out of work) from maintianing and sailing my boat and walking the dog.
